Red Sea May 3-19, 2023
Red Sea May 3-19, 2023
How many of you have dreamed about exploring previously unexplored shipwrecks? This is your chance! We have a liveaboard dive trip to the unknown Red Sea. Travel time to/from Egypt is not included in these dates. Cruise dates are May 5-19.
This will be a special trip, with opportunities for both recreational and technical divers. Recreational divers will be visiting a suite of sites in the range of 10-100 feet (3-30 m). Technical divers (including rebreather support) will have the option to dive deeper depths and longer bottom times.
One of the special things we are doing is diving a number of deeper sites that are unknown. The ship owner has been paying local fishermen to mark deeper sites (150-300 feet) where they have been losing nets and other fishing gear. The possibility is that these are unknown/unexplored WWII shipwrecks. We will be exploring a number of these sites. This is a completely optional part of the expedition, with other known sites available at the same time for those who do not wish to explore.
Space on the vessel is limited. Total price is $3,586, including 2 nights hotel in Hurgada. A non-refundable (but transferable) deposit of $1,750 will secure your position on the trip. Download brochure (left) for details, or an application to sign up.
An optional post-boat trip to Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and other locations to see the pyramids is available as an extension. (Below)

The MV Nouran
The MV Nouran is 120 ft (36m) long and has space for 26 guests in 13 twin en-suite cabins. Designed by a marine architect, she handles the rare occasion that the Red Sea “blows” exceptionally well. Under the command of Captain Ramadan, her crew are attentive and professional.
The saloon and cabins are fully air conditioned. The saloon is spacious and is equipped with TV, DVD and stereo. Meals are served buffet style, and snacks and all drinks (except alcohol) are included on-board. There are 2 large sundecks for relaxing. The dive deck offers plenty of space for all of your equipment and for divers to gear up.

Our Route
We board the MV Nouran in Hurghada and then steam north to Abu Nihas. Here we do our check dives and visit four stunning shallow (5-90 ft / 2-27m) wrecks. Then we will cross the Gulf of Suez to dive the Thistlegorm Wreck or the Dunraven. After this we circle the southernmost point of the Sinai Peninsula, Ras Mohammad, and commence reef and wall diving. If all goes well, we will dive some lesser dived sites in the national park and the classics of Shark Reef, Yolanda and Jackfish Alley. Steaming past the lights of Sharm El Sheikh we will dive on the walls of the straights of Tiran. Once we are done, we move south to the Brothers to dive the Numidia and the Aida.
Steaming south from The Brothers we will enter our own little world. Very few vessels venture as far south as Zabargat and St Johns to dive. We may dive Ras Tirombi, Claudia’s Reef, Maksoor, Rocky and Zabargat.
